Monday Essentials: Day Camp Goes On; Library Hosts Movies, Navy Band

East Providence summer camp continues at Pierce Field; Weaver library will entertain you with movies, Navy band.

Here are five things you should know about this week in East Providence:

  1. The weather this week will see mostly sunshine and temperatures in the low 80s each day although there could be a few morning showers on Tuesday, thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday and shows back again on Friday. 
  2. The East Providence Parks and Recreation Department summer day camp continues today through Friday at 8:30 am at Pierce Field, 201 Mercer St., and runs all day; you can walk in and register with the proper form and a check for $50.
  3. The Weaver Library, 41 Grove Ave., continues its Cinemazing Summer Film Series with "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" at 6:30 pm today.
  4. Then on Tuesday, July 23, at 2 pm the Weaver Library will continue its summer family movie series with a showing “Despicable Me.”
  5. The Northeast Navy Show Band returns to East Providence on Wednesday evening at 6:30 on the Weaver Library lawn to perform swing, Big Ban and patriotic favorites.
