Rhode Island's Top Cop Stephen Dambruch Reappointed
Rhode Island U.S. Attorney Stephen Dambruch was appointed by Attorney General Jeff Sessions in January.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Rhode Island U.S. Attorney Stephen Dambruch was reappointed Friday. Dambruch was appointed to his post on an interim basis in January by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. The four-month term expired and a federal judge recently extended Dambruch's term.
Dambruch is expected to hold the position until President Trump announces an appointee.
Dambruch, a 1982 Providence College graduate, was a prosecutor for the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office for 16 years and appointed an assistant U.S. attorney in 2004.

Over the last month, Dambruch's office announced charges against individuals for methamphetamine trafficking, child pornography, telemarketing fraud and illegal gun sales, among other alleged crimes.
