Rogers to Join Mayors in Addressing Prov. Rescue Run Issue
The East Providence Mayor is scheduled to attend a press conference in Johnston at noon on Thursday.

Mayor Bruce Rogers is scheduled to attend a press conference called by Johnston Mayor Joseph Polisena for noon Thursday to address the wide disparity between the rescue runs that the city sent into Providence over the past year and the number that Providence provided to East Providence.
According to Polisena, the responded to nearly 500 calls in Providence — yet crews from the capitol city assisted Johnston just 23 times.
On May 30, Rogers, Polisena and North Providence Mayor Charles Lombardi announced that from Providence, and given Mayor Angel Taveras a 30-day deadline to respond.

Polisena also suggested at the time that Providence could ease the burden on the other communities' rescue crews by adding more emergency vehicles.
Thursday's press conference is to be held at the , 1600 Atwood Ave., Polisena said in a statement.
