Unidentified Body Found on East Providence Shore
Police are trying to identify the woman found dead in the Providence River on Tuesday.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—East Providence police are asking the public to help them identify a woman who was found dead in the Providence River on Tuesday morning.
Police said the woman is believed to be in her 20s or early 30s and was wearing a blue sweatshirt, blue sweatpants and green running sneakers.
Foul play is not suspected and the woman, who police believe is white or Hispanic, did not show any signs of being injured.

Police said a person walking the beach found the body near Carousel Park at around 11 a.m.
“We haven’t been able to identify her at this point. We’re hoping that tomorrow we’ll have more luck in doing so, but at this point, if someone knows someone that fits that description that’s been missing, please contact us. We’d like to follow up on any leads we get,” says East Providence Police Lt. Raymond Blinn.
