As A concerned citizen I have To Ask?

Has anyone else been concerned for the disabled couple stationed on Newport Ave not far from the Hotel .
They are both in wheelchair surrounded by what I assumed to be their belongings. I could not help but notice they have been there in that same spot for at least 48 hours. I bring this up for discussion as it is quite concerning to me that this elderly couple is obviously in dire need of assistance. It amazes me that here in RI which happens to be the smallest state in the union and therefore should serve as the epitomy of efficiency and accountability that We do not have such basic humanitarian safeguards in place so as to afford a disabled elderly couple the ability for safe shelter. I know there are thousands of people that will say that's what shelters are for. Well guess what in case you don't know shelters are dominated and occupied by a younger ruthless generation that victimize the elderly no. 1 and no. 2 they are far from equipped to accommodate special needs or the disabled. How is it that We as a society have come to deem it acceptable that a couple such as this is allowed to remain on the streets with no recourse or outreach to assist them... Pretty strange that there are at least 6-8 501c3 acknowledged churches within a square mile and yet there they remain. I contacted the news to bring this tragedy to the public's attention because We need to do better Rhode Island. I only hope that no one calls the police on these poor people because that is the last thing they need at this point I'm sure and truthfully it is not a police issue this is a Humanitarian issue so I ask my neighbors and my fellow Rhode Islander's where has Our Humanity gone?
