Government offices, schools and the libraries are closed today, but it's business as usual for most businesses and restaurants.
Today is Memorial Day, May 27, 2013, also known as the unofficial start to the summer.
Today, of course, is a federal holiday. But not everybody in East Providence is shutting down. For some businesses, it will be business as usual.

- The Senior Center
- Federal and state government offices
- There will be no mail delivery.
- Most of the banks
What is open today?
- Most retail stores, shops and restaurants.
- TD Bank is open from 7:30 am to 1 pm.
- RIPTA will be operating on a holiday schedule.
- The Newman YMCA in Seekonk is open from 6 am to 12 noon.
