A Providence man told Johnston Police that he and his friend had been assaulted at the McDonald's on Atwood Avenue on Aug. 10.

Johnston Police are seeking a Florida man in connection with the reported assault of two Providence men at the McDonald's drive-thru on Aug. 10 at about 3:30 a.m.

Christian Ortiz, 24, and Adam Rodriguez, 22, told police that they'd been behind a black Buick in the drive-thru when their car "accidentally tapped" the car in front, according to Ptlm. Edward Gonzalez.

The man riding in the Buick then got out of the car, Ortiz said, and when Rodriguez tried to apologize, the man punched and kicked Rodriguez to the ground, leaving him unconscious.

Gonzalez reported that he found Rodriguez on the ground suffering from an apparent bloody nose. Johnston Fire and Rescue personnel brought Rodriguez to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment.

Rodriguez "was unable to recall the incident," Gonzalez wrote in his report.

Ortiz told Gonzalez that the heavy-set white man in his 30s also punched him in the face before leaving the scene with a woman driving the Buick. He was able to provide the registration number of the Buick, as well.

The manager of the McDonald's told Gonzalez that she had seen the assaults, and confirmed the registration number of the suspected assailant's car.

Gonzalez reported that a check of the license plates found the car registered to Justin Ashley Wyman, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

If caught, Wyman faces two counts of assault and battery.
