Is Johnston Really #34 in RI? [Poll]

For the second year in a row, the website GoLocalProv.com has listed Johnston at #34 out of 39 Rhode Island cities and towns in its Best Communities survey.

In an article posted yesterday, the website's Best Communities Team wrote that Johnston native DJ Pauly D's "skyscraper stylings" in hairdos has "kept [Johnston's] big coif rep intact."

On a more data-driven note, the writers note that Johnston's Median Household Income and Median Housing Price have both fallen since 2012, with its "Affordability Index" dripping it three places, to 17th in the state.

The writers also explained of Johnston: "It's [sic] already-low Education ranking dropped as well, from #33 in 2011 to #34 this year," despite an from 76 to 82 percent.

Johnston did score in the top 10 based in one category: the quality of its bars and restaurants, ranking 8th in Rhode Island.
