One Fatality After Johnston Crash Tuesday Night: Police

The passenger in the car that fled Johnston police has died. His name is not being released pending family notification.

JOHNSTON, RI — One person is dead after a police chase and crash Tuesday night on Route 6, police said. The deceased person was a passenger in the car. He was ejected when the car crashed into a guard rail and later died at Rhode Island Hospital. His name is not being released until his family is notified.

The driver, Alpha Williams, 47, of Providence, was released from the hospital with a summons for two misdemeanors, one for eluding an officer.
