Johnston Police Chase Ends In Serious Crash On Route 6
Rescue workers responded to a crash on Route 6. It happened Tuesday night around 7.

JOHNSTON, RI — A chase that started in Johnston ended in a crash on Route 6 over the Providence line, Johnston police said. According to deputy police Chief Joseph Razza, a Johnston officer stopped the driver around 7 p.m. on Route 6 East for traffic violations. Initially, the driver stopped but then sped away.
The Johnston officer followed the car into Providence, but the driver hit the guardrail on the off ramp to Hartford Avenue. The driver and a passenger were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Their condition is not known. State police and Johnston police are investigating.
