Arrested: Text & Phone Threats Against Relative In Middletown
Andrew Paiva, 28, of Middletown, was arrested at the McKinney Shelter in Newport on April 7 at 7:18 p.m. Police allege he made threats.

MIDDLETOWN, RI—Newport police arrested Andrew Paiva, 28, of Middletown, at the McKinney Shelter on April 7 around 6:45 p.m. He was wanted on a 24-hour pick up for a domestic offense. Middletown police charged him with Domestic Disorderly Conduct , a misdemeanor, after a 50-year old woman complained he sent her threatening texts and made threatening telephone calls. She told police he was taking a bus to her house and wanted his social security money from her. She is the legal payee and told police she gave him $120; he wanted more; and she feared he was using the money to buy drugs. He was arraigned in Newport on Friday. An innocent plea was entered for him, according to the Judicial Portal.
