Video: Dogs Rescued From Puerto Rico Hurricane Settle In At Potter League
The 10 dogs arrived in Middletown around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Most seem very happy with their new quarters, Brad Shear, of Potter League said

MIDDLETOWN, RI—They should all be tuckered out after their plane trip from Puerto Rico and the ride from New Jersey to Middletown. But the 10 dogs rescued from Hurricane Maria seemed quite pleased with their new quarters in Rhode Island.
All but one of the 10 appeared very thin, Brad Shear, the Potter League's executive director acknowledged. These dogs had been given vaccinations and other care in Puerto Rico, thanks to the Humane Society of the U.S. The organization arranged for their transport to the mainland. They will stay in quarantine for five days in Rhode Island per state law. The dogs are friendly. Two female mixes looked scared, and one quivered in her crate, leaning into the other dog for comfort. But they warmed up when given a treat.

This dog's back shows signs of an old wound, Shear indicated.

The Dachshund-Chihuahua mixes, both female, were most timid of all the dogs but warmed up when offered some treats.
