How Much Snow Is Expected For Newport County?

Another winter storm is brewing. Newport County could get between 3 and 5 inches of snow. Rain could impact accumulation totals.

More bad weather is on the way.

A winter storm watch and hazardous weather outlook is in effect Wednesday for Newport County.  But how much snow are we expected to get on the island? 

According to the National Weather Service, precipitation is expected to fluctuate between rain and snow over the next few days.   New snow accumulation is predicted to be between 3 and 5 inches.

Sixty percent chance of showers likely on Wednesday, mainly after 5 p.m.  Could change to snow after 1 a.m. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Thursday

New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible. Snow is expected into the night with strong winds expected

Friday

Snow is likely before 4 p.m., then it is expected to change to rain.  Winds are expected to reach 29 mph.
