Man Allegedly Shoplifts, Assaults Store Manager
The following arrest was reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Edward Garofalo, 44, was arrested on Wednesday around 2:15 p.m. after Walgreens employees alleged he shoplifted then assaulted the manager. Â
The store manager said he watched Garofalo place a $29.99 cell phone into his bag. Â When confronted, Garofalo allegedly grabbed the manager's shirt and pushed him backwards.
Police found Garofalo on Maple Avenue and arrested him. Â Police found Clonzepam pills in his bag. Â Garofalo was charged with shoplifting, simple assault, and possession of narcotics, a felony.
