Students and staff at Middletown High School and Gaudet Middle School competed to see who could raise the most money for Ukrainian relief.
MIDDLETOWN, RI — A friendly competition between Middletown's high school and middle school students led to thousands of dollars being raised for humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
Students and staff at Middletown High School and Gaudet Middle School competed to see who could raise the most money to help Ukrainians struggling because of Russia's invasion. Together, the two schools raised $8,106,42 in less than a week, school officials said.
The competition was close, but Gaudet came out on top, raising more than half the money for the United Nations Children's Fund relief efforts in Ukraine.
