MPD Issue 110 Underage Citations, Break Up 2 College Parties
The following was reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Middletown police broke up two college parties this weekend, which resulted in 110 underage drinking citations and one arrest. Police said one man was transported to the hospital because he was so drunk.Â
Around 11:35 p.m. on Friday, police responded to 48 Warren Ave. for a noise complaint. Police said there were beer cans everywhere and a room was so full, that people were pressed up against each other. There were no fire escapes or ladders if a fire broke out, commented police. Newport and Portsmouth police departments responded to assist Middletown.  Around 70 underage citations were issued.Â
On Sunday around 1:07 a.m., police responded to 11 Shore Drive for a noise complaint. Police said when they broke up the party, a group of 15 people left the premises.  Police said the group, which they described as "loud and obnoxious", was cut off on Esplanade.Â

A group of five individuals reportedly ran off. Police said an officer ran after the group, but injured his ankle. Neighbors complained that people were running through their backyards and broke a fence. Middletown police were then able to get assistance from the Newport Police Department, which was previously was unable to assist.Â
Police said they found the group of five because "they were so incredibly loud." One man, Bryan Gaschke, 19, of Rutherford, N.J., allegedly refused to cooperate with police. Police said he was loud, verbally confrontational and refused to go back to the house with the others. He was arrested on charges of resisting arrest and obstruction of an officer.
Back at the house on Shore Drive, a man was reportedly throwing up continuously. Police said he vomited so much that it appeared he could not take a breath. Middletown Fire Department responded and transported him to Newport Hospital.Â
