Police Release Official Data from Parade Weekend
According to police officials, 84 people were arrested last weekend.

The Newport Police Department released the official data regarding the arrests made over the course of St. Patrick’s Day weekend on Tuesday morning.
Lt. William Fitzgerald said due to double reporting, the initial report of 94 arrests has been corrected to 84.

This year, police made 19 physical arrests, which is a 20 percent increase from last year, Fitzgerald said.
Ten cars were towed on parade day.

- Possession of alcohol by a minor – 28
- Possession of alcohol in public – 33
- Urinating in public – 2
Arrests Breakdown:
- Disorderly conduct/fighting – 11
- Simple assault – 4
- Vandalism – 2
- Felony assault – 2
- Simple assault involving a juvenile – 1
- Obstruction of a police officer – 1
