MIDDLETOWN, RI — Besides having some good seasons on the gridiron recently, Coach John Mackay of the St. George's School Dragons, has sent some of his boys on to play at the next level. Chief among them are Isaac McCray at Bryant University, Jon Lumley at Fordham University, Dave LaMountain at Denison of Ohio, and Omari Davis at Hobart.
McCray has made his mark for the Black and Gold Bulldogs already. Following in the footsteps of his older brother, record setter Rico, Isaac twice gained Rookie of the Week Honors in the Northeast Conference for his outstanding play. In a season cut short by illness he still managed to carry the pigskin 55 times for 287 yards and a 5.2 average. he also caught 11 passes for 160 yards and scored 3 TDs. He was the first true freshman in the history of the D1 program at BU to post a 100 yard rushing game.
