2 More Arrests Made After Massive Fight At Block Island Ferry Dock

NARRAGANSETT, RI — Two more people were arrested Monday in connection to a massive fight Saturday at the dock of the Block Island Ferry, according to police.

James Ronald Cole, 54, of Westerly, and Jordan Leighty, 41, of Richmond, were charged with disorderly conduct.

On Monday, Cole and Leighty turned themselves in to Narragansett police following a fight that involved up to 30 people. Cole and Leighty were arraigned in Fourth District Court on Monday.

Officers responded around 8:15 p.m. to the dock at Great Island Road for a report of 20-to-30 people fighting, police said. As officers tried to make arrests, multiple people interfered and were told to stand back or be arrested themselves for obstructing, according to police.

Seven people were arrested on scene, and two people were taken to hospitals for injuries suffered during the fight, police said.
