5 THINGS: It’s Not As Hot Today (Because It’s Gonna Rain)
Actually, I'm not sure if it will rain today, or if the drops will just dissolve in the air before hitting the sidewalk.

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Friday, June 22, 2012:
BATTLE OF THE BEACH! The sixth annual wrestling tournament takes place today, from noon to 4:30 p.m., at Narragansett Town Beach. The event is sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, the South County Youth Wrestling Club and the Rhode Island Wrestling Association. Registration is from noon to 1 p.m., followed by a rules clinic, and then matches starting at 1:30 p.m. The entry fee is $10, but watching is free. (I’m sure you can donate if you want though!)
This will be nothing like Friday the 13th. Tonight, Narragansett Parks and Recreation its “Meet The Counselors” at 5:30 p.m. Jamie Lee Curtis and Jason Voorhees will not be there. (Interesting note: “Vorrhees” is in Word’s default dictionary. Weird.)

There will be (a) blood (drive). The Rhode Island Blood Center is a blood drive at Scarborough Beach from 9 a.m. to noon today.
Even though you’re Rhode Islanders, seriously, it’s only 30 minutes or so. There will be a at Goddard State Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. It will actually be held every Friday, just for future reference. Vendors from SK, NK and Johnston are expected to be attending.

Golf tournament for dogs and cats! Well, not literally (unfortunately). But if you play in the ARLSRI golf tournament today, the proceeds go toward dogs and cats. For more info, click .
Looking for weekend activities? Check out a regional Five Things article by Susan Manning . We will also have Five Things articles for SK and Gansett on Saturday and Sunday, along with our usual features like House Hunt / This Open House.
Bork bork bork! On this day in 1906, the flag of Sweden was officially adopted. This gives me flimsy reasoning to include clips of the Swedish Chef. For a compilation of all of his moments, click here.
Do you have it? Happy 54th birthday to Bruce Campbell! I can’t link to most of his stuff because of its adult content, so instead, here is his awesome Old Spice commercial from a few years ago.
