Up To 6 Inches Of Snow, Coastal Flooding Possible In Rhode Island: Winter Weather Advisory
Foster, Smithfield, Providence, Coventry and West Greenwich are expected to see the most snow and wind gusts as high as 45 mph.

RHODE ISLAND — Snow and coastal flooding could be on the way in Rhode Island on Friday night into Saturday.
The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory in northern and Western Rhode Island, with up to 6 inches of snow possible. The advisory is from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 pm. Saturday.
Specifically, Foster, Smithfield, Providence, Coventry and West Greenwich are expected to see the most snow and wind gusts as high as 45 mph. In the advisory area, it's expected that the precipitation will start as snow, then turn to a mix of snow, sleet, and rain during the day Saturday.

Lower snow accumulations are expected in the rest of Rhode Island.
And in Washington County, a coastal flood advisory was issued. Flooding could impact roads, parking lots and parks, with up to a half foot of water possible. Isolated road closures are expected.

One good piece of news: the winter storm will be gone by Sunday, with mostly sunny skies and seasonable temperatures returning. In the Providence area, temperatures re expected to be around 42.
