Bank Robber Take Cops On High Speed Chase: Police
Police accuse him of robbing a bank and leading them on a high speed chase in which he swerved into a police cruiser.
SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. — A North Kingstown man was arrested after robbing a bank and leading police on a high speed chase, according to the South Kingstown Police Department. Ryan Ross, 33, of Seaview Avenue in North Kingstown, was arrested on Nov. 16.
After robbing the Savings Institute Bank & Trust at 121 Old Tower Hill Rd., Ross drove off, police said. A Narragansett officer saw him and gave vital information to South Kingstown police.
During the high speed pursuit, Ross swerved into a South Kingstown cruiser, according to a WLNE report.

The pursuit ended when Ross crashed at the intersection of Saugatucket Road and North Road, the report said. He tried to run away, but police caught up with him.
Ross is being charged with two counts of second degree robbery, two felony counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a controleld substance, high speed pursuit (first offense), driving with a suspended license and resisting arrest.

Ross appeared in court on Nov. 28 and is being held at the Adult Correctional Institute until his hearing on Dec. 12.
