Blizzard Of '22 In Narragansett-SK: See How Much Snow Fell
Parts of the state recorded more than two feet of snowfall, and blizzard conditions were confirmed in several communities.

NARRAGANSETT-SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Rhode Island was hit with a historic storm Saturday, with heavy snowfall and gusty winds blowing snow into impressive drifts. Rhode Islanders saw the most single-day snowfall in recent memory.
Blizzard conditions were met in several cities and towns across Rhode Island, the National Weather Service confirmed Saturday night. Westerly, Newport, Block Island and Providence all met the requirements. To qualify as a blizzard, snow must fall or blow to reduce visibility to less than one-quarter of a mile, along with winds that frequently gust at 35 mph or higher. These conditions must persist for at least three consecutive hours.

Warren saw the highest snow accumulation in the state, breaking two feet with 24.6 inches. Everywhere in the state saw at least a foot of snowfall, according to the latest report from the National Weather Service.

South County was hit hard by the storm, which brought high wind gusts and dangerous surf to the coastal communities. Kingston, a village in South Kingstown, recorded 14 inches of accumulation.
