NARRAGANSETT, RI — The Boston Marathon returned on its traditional Patriots Day date this week, with more than 25,000 athletes completing the 26.2-mile course from Hopkinton to Boylston Street.

Among those runners were three from Narragansett athletes.

Evans Chebet of Kenya took first place among the men with a finishing time of 2:06:51, and Peres Jepchirchir of Kenya won in the women's group with a time of 02:21:01.

  • Brooke McGreen, 24: 2:59:51
  • Lisa Garzilli, 50: 4:35:41
  • Betsy Sullivan, 58: 5:00:24
