Chafee, Economic Officials Hold Forum Wednesday Morning

Governor Lincoln D. Chafee and state officials are holding a forum for local small businesses. The officials want to listen to the businesses' needs and discuss plans to get Rhode Island's budget and economy back on track.

NARRAGANSETT – As part of an ongoing statewide series of meetings with Rhode Island’s business community, Governor Lincoln D. Chafee and other state officials will hold a forum for local small businesses with the Narragansett Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday morning.

They will talk about the Governor’s FY2012 budget proposals aimed at getting Rhode Island back on track, provide an overview of the state’s economic growth priorities and listen to the business community about their needs and challenges.

The forum will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at on Beach Street in Narragansett. Chafee, Rhode Island Economic Development Committee Executive Director Keith Stokes and Paul Dion, the chief of the Office of Revenue Analysis in the Rhode Island Department of Revenue, are expected to speak.
