Elderly Driver Strikes Senior In A Wheelchair In South Kingstown

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — A senior struck another elderly person in a wheelchair with their car outside the South County YMCA on Broad Rock Road, South Kingstown police said.

Police said the wheelchair was being pushed by a woman when the crash happened on Wednesday morning. All three people were taken to the hospital, police said.

"The driver and the victims have been treated for injuries and while the investigation remains active, no criminal charges have been filed," South Kingstown police said in a statement.
