Local Student's Art Could Get International Exposure
Rhode Islanders are invited to vote for a fourth grader's drawing to grace the Google homepage.
Katie Heenan's "Deep Sea Search," the Rhode ISland finalist in Google's national Doodle 4 Google contest, needs online votes to beat out the national competition. Heenan is a student in Smithfield.
Americans will weigh in on their favorite doodles from May 1 through May 10 at the Doodle 4 Google website. If she wins, Katie's drawing will be featured on Google's home page for a day, and she'll get a $30,000 scholarship —  and LaPerche School gets a $50,000 technology grant.Â
