Mother and Son Missing after Fishing Trip near Block Island
Linda Carmen and her son Nathan left Ram's Point Marina in Point Judith on Saturday night and haven't been seen since.

BLOCK ISLAND, RI—The U.S. Coast Guard is searching the waters off Block Island for a 54-year-old woman and her 22-year-old son after they failed to return from an offshore fishing trip over the weekend.
Linda Carman and her son, Nathan, left Ram's Point Marina in Point Judith on Saturday night on a 32-foot aluminum center console boat.
"Sector Southeastern New England issued an urgent marine information broadcast and launched a 45-foot rescue boat from Station Point Judith as well as a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and a HC-144 fixed wing aircraft from Air Station Cape Cod," the Coast Guard said in a news release. "In addition, the Block Island Harbormaster conducted searches in and around Block Island last night."

The search continues today with the Coast Guard Cutter Bonito, Station Point Judith and aircraft from Air Station Cape Cod. The state Department of Environmental Management is searching near southern Narragansett Bay.
Anyone with information about Nathan Carmen and Linda Carman or their missing vessel are urged to call Coast Guard Sector Southeastern New England's Command Center at 508-457-3211.
