Narragansett Police Log: May 6, 7 and 8, 2012
Police break up two parties, and deal with a suspended license and a homeless man trespassing.

Narragansett Man Charged With Driving With A Suspended License
Cardoza Coston, 33, of 6 Cornell Road, Narragansett, was arrested at about 10:15 a.m. on May 8 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Point Judith Road saw a white Ford truck pass with an expired inspection sticker. A traffic stop was made on Point Judith Road.
Police said the driver – Coston – told them that he thought his license was suspended. A background check confirmed this, and he was arrested without incident. He was also cited for the expired inspection sticker.

The passenger in the truck did not have his license with him. The registered owner of the truck was called to the scene, and she drove it away.
Homeless Man Charged with Trespassing
Robert Edward Hilbern, 53, was arrested at about 3:46 p.m. on May 8 and charged with trespassing. Police said Hilbern is homeless.
According to police, they received a complaint from a Caswell Street resident that Hilbern was drunk and had followed her home. The woman told police that she had an active no-trespass order against Hilbern based on past incidents.
Police confirmed the order, and arrested Hilbern for trespassing. Based on the arrest, the no-trespass order was extended to May 8, 2013.
Woonsocket Man Cited for Driving With an Expired License
Duy Tuan D. Le, 39, of 95 South St., Woonsocket, was cited at about 1:08 a.m. on May 6 and charged with driving without a license.
According to police, an officer monitoring traffic on Point Judith Road clocked a Lexus SUV at 51 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was made near Moo Moo’s Ice Cream.
Police said a background check of the driver – Le – revealed that his license expired in August 2011. He was cited for the violation. A passenger with an active license was allowed to drive the SUV from the scene.
Loud Parties
- At about 12:03 a.m. on May 6, police received a report of a loud party at 81 Saltaire Ave.
According to police, about 150 people were at the party, with three cars illegally parked on the street. Police noted that people were stumbling out as the party was cleared, and appeared to be heavily intoxicated. Due to the size of the party, police said it was unable to clear quickly.
Police identified the tenants as 22-year-old Daniel P. Ramalho and 21-year-old John J. McDonough. Both signed the nuisance form.
- At about 12:20 a.m. on May 6, police received a report of a loud party at 7 Defelice Road.
According to police, about 30 people were at the party, which had very loud music that was audible from the road. Police said the tenants – Dana M. Yacyk and Alicia M. Price, 22, and Vicki M. Schiaffo, 21 – were cooperative and cleared the party quickly.
