Narragansett Police Respond To Fake Bomb Threat On Block Island Ferry
Narragansett Police K-9 Napoleon helped officers search the boat, and no bomb or suspicious items were found, police say.
NARRAGANSETT, RI — Narragansett police responded to a bomb threat Friday morning made against a Block Island ferry.
Police said the threat was deemed not credible.
Around 7:20 a.m., Narragansett police received a report of a bomb threat at Block Island Ferry at 304 Great Island Road. Police said the ferry was unoccupied, and the only ferry in port at the time.

Officers and mutual aid partners conducted a sweep of the ferry with the assistance of Narragansett Police K-9 Napoleon. No suspicious items were located, according to police.
Narragansett police said officers remained on scene to ensure that the ferry was boarded and departed safely, out of an abundance of caution. The scene was cleared by 9 a.m.

Police said an investigation revealed the threat was not credible and did not involve criminal intent. No charges will be filed.
