- The Providence Journal, “Boys Division II lacrosse championship game rescheduled.” Speaking of boys’ lacrosse, the tilt between South Kingstown and East Greenwich will be played 6 p.m. Saturday (weather permitting) because the EG graduation is Sunday. It’s too bad, because it breaks up an originally scheduled Sunday doubleheader with Narragansett.
- The South County Independent, “SK wins 14th consecutive D-I state championship.” A nice long profile on the lengthening of a streak from the SK boys’ tennis program. (They’re just 12 behind the 26-year streak of Mount Saint Charles hockey.)
- The Jamestown Press, “Skippers lose in bid to defend state title.” Despite the headline, it’s actually good for South Kingstown, since they beat the Skippers for the junior varsity tennis title.
- The South County Independent, “Crusaders fall short in upset bid.” No. 5 Prout almost pulled off the upset in Division II tennis against undefeated No. 1 seed Cranston West.
- The South County Independent, “Pond gets infusion of baby scallops.” Save the Bay is attempting to replenish the scallop supply of Point Judith Pond.
- The South County Independent, “Festive fund-raiser planned.” The Narragansett police and fire departments will play a charity flag football game 11 a.m. Saturday at the high school, with a rain date of Sunday.
- The South County Independent, “Community support tremendous.” The organizers of the Kayla Feeley Benefit at Old Mountain Lanes thanks the community and businesses for support.
