Parking Bans In Narragansett, South Kingstown For Snow

The storm is expected to make for hazardous road conditions, particularly during the morning commute.

NARRAGANSETT-SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Parking bans have been issued in South County ahead of a winter storm set to arrive overnight. While there's still a lot of uncertainty surrounding snow totals, several inches of accumulation are likely.

Narragansett's parking ban will be in effect from 11 p.m. Thursday until 6 p.m. Friday. South Kingstown, meanwhile, will have a parking ban from midnight until 3 p.m. Friday.

The snow is expected to arrive overnight, between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. It is expected to change over from all snow to wintry mix Friday morning, between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. in the southern half of the state, and between 9 a.m. and noon in the northern half of the state.

When all is said and done, Rhode Island is expected to see between two and eight inches of snow accumulation, with the snowfall amount highest at the top of the state and lower headed further south. The National Weather Service said there is still a lot of uncertainty about these numbers, however, so all of Rhode Island could see different snow totals.
