Relay Team Excels at States; On To Regionals
A pair of seniors, juniors and sophomores are up in Vermont to take part of the New England regionals.
A handful of Narragansett High School students are up in Burlington, Vermont, this weekend, as they are representing the school in the 4x100 meter relay race at the 66th New England Interscholastic Outdoor Track and Field Championship.
According to the performance list for the event, the Mariners are seeded 23rd in a field of 33 teams with a time of 3:30.76. A Mansfield, Massachusetts squad is the top seed with a time of 3:20.02, and the top Rhode Island school is Bishop Hendricken, seeded 13th with a time of 3:25.88.
Eligible runners for the Mariners are seniors Chris Salomone and Marciano Brunette, juniors Aaron Libman and Deveron Gordon, and sophomores Santino Brunette and Ryan Luddy.

The Mariners earned the qualifying time at the Rhode Island state championship meet this past Saturday. Running for Narragansett then and most likely at regionals are Marciano and Santino Brunette, Salomone and Luddy, with Libman and Gordon as alternates.
The meet starts at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, although Narragansett’s relays scheduled as the last track event of the day. Live results are available.
