PROVIDENCE, RI — Rhode Island reached another major milestone in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, getting at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose to 90 percent of adults in the state.

This means Rhode Island met the ambitious goal set by Gov. Dan McKee at the beginning of the year, when the vaccination campaign first started.

"Rhode Island might be small, but we are mighty — especially when it comes to getting shots in arms," McKee said. "Thank you to each and every Rhode Islander who stepped up to get vaccinated. It is because of you that we are leading the nation in vaccinations and economic recovery. Let’s keep going."
