RHODE ISLAND — After several days of springlike temperatures, snow is once again in the forecast for Rhode Island. The Ocean State could see up to three inches throughout the day Wednesday.

The latest forecast from the National Weather Service expects snow during the afternoon, with a 70 percent chance of snow from about 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., totaling one to three inches. Some slight snow showers could continue into the later evening hours.

What snow does accumulate isn't likely to hang around, since sunny skies and temperatures up to 50 degrees return Thursday, followed by partly sunny skies and warmer weather again Friday.
