See How Much Snow Fell In Narragansett-South Kingstown

Close to a foot of snow fell in parts of the state, far more than the six inches initially in the forecast.

NARRAGANSETT-SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — A winter storm hit southern New England to end the weekend, bringing unexpectedly high amounts of snow to Rhode Island.

After an early week forecast of just a dusting, expected snow totals were raised to six inches by Sunday morning. Snowfall ended up considerably higher than expected, with close to a foot falling in parts of the state.

Narragansett and South Kingstown saw more than the initially expected six inches, both clocking in at eight inches Monday morning. As a result, both districts delayed the start of school, Narragansett by two hours and South Kingstown by one.
