South County Hospital Hosting Fashion Show at Dunes Club

The South County Hospital Auxiliary presents the Ninth Annual Fashion Show Luncheon, "A Weekend in South County," with the proceeds to benefit the intensive care unit.

To the editor,

The South County Hospital Auxiliary is pleased to announce that its Ninth Annual Fashion Show Luncheon, “A Weekend in South County,” will take place on Wednesday, June 22 at the Dunes Club.

We are especially honored to have NBC Channel 10 news reporter, Barbara Morse Silva, emcee our afternoon. The funds generated from this yearʼs event will support the Intensive Care Unit.

“The South County Hospital ICU achieves remarkable results in all the standards by which intensive care is measured,” Lou Giancola, Hospital president and CEO, noted recently. “Dr. Puppi, the medical director, and his staff have been recognized by the RI Quality Institute and by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement for the high quality care provided to patients. The Hospital is grateful for the support the Auxiliary provides to help us continue our mission.”

Boutiques from Wickford, Narragansett, Newport and Wakefield will entice our audience with an array of fashions. These stores include Beauty and the Bath, Village Reflections, Wilsonʼs of Wickford, Pt. Judith Country Club Golf Shop, Island Outfitters and Janeeska.

Guests are invited to arrive at 10:30 a.m., when the doors open, to view merchandise from many, new vendors and to peruse a wealth of exciting raffle items. Valet parking will be provided and a cash bar will be open. The luncheon begins promptly at noon with the fashion show to follow at 1 p.m.

In 2010 the Fashion Show Luncheon raised more than $13,200 through ticket sales, personal donations and the generosity of many local merchants. With such outpouring of community support, the Hospital Auxiliary is hoping this year to surpass the funds raised last year.

Since its founding in 1933, the Auxiliary has provided volunteer services, public relations, and fund raising initiatives to support South County Hospital in Wakefield.

Tickets for the event are $55. Space is limited and paid reservations are required by June 15.

Please contact either Pat at (401) 284-3746 or Jill at (401) 294-7101 to reserve your place.
