South Kingstown Police Make 3 DUI Arrests In 1 Day
South Kingstown police said one of the three men facing DUI charges struck a building with his car.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Three people were arrested Wednesday in South Kingstown after police said they were caught driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
"Impaired driving is a dangerous problem, and having three arrests on a Wednesday — including one before noon — is very alarming," Police Chief Matthew Moynihan said. "Our message remains the same: if you’ve been drinking or using cannabis, don’t drive. And if you see an impaired driver, call 911."

11:13 a.m. — Travis Pease, 55, of Carolina, was charged with DUI, refusal to submit to a chemical test, speeding, and presence of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle.
Police said they pulled over ease on Ministerial Road for speeding. Pease ha several open containers of alcohol in his car, according to police.

Pease was arraigned in Washington County District Court and was released on personal recognizance.
5:56 p.m. — Thomas Ashley, 36, of Wakefield, was charged with DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Police said Ashley drove into a building on Grand Isle Drive, and Ashley showed signs of impairment. He was arraigned at the station and is scheduled to appear in Washington County District Court on Thursday.
The town building inspector evaluated the building and found minor structural damage.
10:31 p.m. — Michael Comire, 58, of South Kingstown, was charged with DUI, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and speeding.
Police said thy pulled over Comire after he was speeding on Kingstown Road. He was arraigned at the station and is scheduled to appear in Washington County District Court on Sept. 5.
