Spain Of Narragansett Restaurant For Sale As Owners Consider Retiring

NARRAGANSETT, RI — The owners of the popular Spanish restaurant, Spain of Narragansett, have put the Ocean Road eatery up for sale.

In a Facebook post, owner Salvador Gomes and his family wrote they've started showing the property, as they consider retirement.

"This winter season, we wanted to take a moment to spend time amongst family and explore the chef's retirement plans in the next few years, the owners wrote on Spain of Narragansett's Facebook page. "With that, we are currently showing the property as a measure of exploring options, but there is nothing to report at this time. It has been a wonderful 36 years in business and as the owner enters his mid-60s, it is important to evaluate what the next few decades will look like for Spain."

Although the owners stressed nothing is imminent, the restaurant was listed for $4.5 million earlier this month by Keller Williams Coastal and Next Move Realty.

"The food at Spain results from international influences, passion, dedication and family," the owners added. "We are sincerely complimented by your love for Spain's cuisine and will be in touch with any updates regarding our plans.
