URI Oceanography Hosting Beach Info Sessions
In sessions geared at families, the Graduate School of Oceanography will explore the coast of Narragansett Town Beach.
Join University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Oceanography Scientists on Saturday, May 19 for a two-hour beach exploration.
Scientists will lead an exploration of the shoreline of Narragansett Town Beach, one of Rhode Island's most beautiful coastal beaches. The program, sponsored by the Friends of Narragansett Town Beach, will introduce such topics as beach development, erosion, and migration, and beach ecology and history.
The program is suitable for families with children of middle school age and older as well as adults. There will be plenty of time to ask the scientists your questions.

The program is limited to the first 40 registrants. The program runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
Pre-registration is required. To register, please call Maryann Scholl at the Office of Marine Programs, (401) 874-6500. The group will meet in front of the new North Beach pavilion promptly at 11 a.m.
