Want To Avoid Porch Pirates? Send Packages To South Kingstown Police

South Kingstown police will let residents have their packages sent to the department to avoid falling victim to theft this holiday season.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI — Are you looking to avoid having your packages stolen by "porch pirates" this holiday season? South Kingstown police said they are offering residents a safer solution.

The South Kingstown Police Department on Sunday reminded town residents they can ship their packages directly to the police to prevent theft this holiday season.

"As we approach the holidays, we are again seeing the return of package theft and crimes of opportunity in otherwise safe communities," Police Chief Matthew Moynihan said. "We want to deter porch pirates in South Kingstown and hope that residents will use ‘Ship to Station.’ We will also focus additional patrols in residential areas and continue to encourage residents to ‘see something, say something’ as we work together to keep our neighborhoods safe."
