2 Men Accused Of Sexually Assaulting A Man In Newport
Police say Juan Carlos Montepeque-Albizures, 24, of Newport, and Alvaro Gomez-Alvarez, 33, sexually assaulted a 27-year-old man.
NEWPORT, RI — Newport police arrested two men they said sexually assaulted a 27-year-old man at his home.
Juan Carlos Montepeque-Albizures, 24, of Newport, and Alvaro Gomez-Alvarez, 33, were charged with first-degree sexual assault and conspiracy to commit sexual assault.
Police said both men were arrested on Nov. 18. Montepeque-Albizures was arrested at his Broadway home, which was searched for officers to gather evidence, as well as another location on Kingston Avenue. Gomez-Alvarez was arrested at work, police said.

Both men were arraigned in Newport District Court. They were ordered held without bail and are being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston.
