Another Day, Another Round Of Snow, Cold In Rhode Island

The Ocean State is expected to start the day Thursday with up to two inches of snow during the morning commute.

RHODE ISLAND — Another round of snow and bitterly cold weather is in the forecast for Rhode Island Thursday morning. Up to two inches of snow is expected in the first half of the day, negatively affecting the morning commute.

"Most of the snow will be from 5 a.m. until noon Thursday," the National Weather Service said.

Much of Rhode Island will see one to two inches of snow, with slightly more accumulation in the northwest corner of the state and a little less along the coast. Block Island will likely only see a coating. A slushy transition of rain and snow is possible throughout the day as temperatures fluctuate.

After relatively warm temperatures in the mid-40s on Wednesday, temperatures will again fall Thursday, bottoming out around 11 degrees overnight. Sunshine will return on Friday, with temperatures only expected to reach the low 20s.

Another change for snow will arrive Saturday, though no significant accumulation is expected at this time.
