Arrest Log: Shoplifting, DUI, Disorderly
The following arrests were reported by the Newport Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
- Richard Smith, 34, of 293 Oxford St. Providence, was arrested Tuesday for four bench warrants out of Superior Court.
- Nicholas Bishop, 24, of John Chaffee Blvd., was arrested Tuesday for embezzlement and shoplifting. Police were dispatched to 199 Connell Hwy Stop and Shop because he was reportedly caught on video stealing cash and cigarettes. The manager said over $1,600 dollars had gone missing from the last three months from his drawer.
- Armando Gustilo, 21, 35 Third Street, was issued a summons Wednesday around 1:45 a.m. for an open container.
- Curtis Jones, 53, 965 Jones Chapel Dr., Memphis, TN, was arrested was Wednesday disorderly fighting.
- Johathan Atkins, 21, 94 Petty Plan Road, Greenfield, MA, was arrested Thursday around 1 a.m. for driving under the influence.
- Melquis Aquilar, 26, 15 Caleb Earl St. Apt #2, was arrested on Thursday for simple assault.
- Mark Harmon, 56, of an unknown address in Newport was was arrested on Wednesday on disorderly conduct.
