Broadway Newcomer Bistro 162 Opens Tonight

One of the newest additions to the Broadway scene officially opens its doors tonight.

Bistro 162, which bills itself as “Hometown Feel, Downtown Appeal”, held a soft opening last weekend and will make it official tonight at 5 p.m.

Owner and President Lainie Vonoplachecki has more than 30 year  of experience in the food service industry, according to her bio on Bistro 162’s website.  Her credits include The Seaman’s Church Institute, The Hilltop, The Franklin Luncheonette and the Francis Malbone Inn.

Mark Glaister Knight will head the kitchen as Executive Chef.  Knight is no stranger to Newport either and has worked at The Mooring and the The Clarke Cooke House.

Bistro 162 is located at 162 Broadway, former home of Pop Kitchen & Cocktails.
