Domestic Strangulation; Fighting; Drug Charges: Newport Police Log

NEWPORT, RI — The following people were arrested by Newport police between Oct. 19 and Oct. 24.

Names of those arrested or the town they reside in were only omitted when not provided by police.

Oct. 19

11:50 a.m. — Matthew Curtin, 35, of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, was charged with larceny over $1,500.

12:45 p.m. — Kevin Smyth, 26, of Newport, and Ethan Smyth, 19, of Newport, were charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver schedule I/II drugs and manufacturing/possessing/delivering more than 5 kilograms of marijuana.

1:45 p.m. — Stephanie Grafals, 25, of Newport, was charged with were charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver schedule I/II drugs and possession of a schedule I-V drugs.

10:30 p.m. — David Harris, 51, of Newport, was charged with larceny under $1,500, domestic assault by strangulation, domestic disorderly conduct, and larceny of a controlled substance.

Oct. 20

10:40 a.m. — Nicholas Medeiros, 38, of Newport, was charged with drinking/possessing an open container of alcohol in public.

10:45 p.m. — Steven Cox, 64, of Newport, was charged with drinking/possessing an open container of alcohol in public.

Oct. 22

3:40 a.m. — Daniel Elliot, 66, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic simple assault/battery.

11:35 p.m. — Darnell Lamb, 54, of Newport, was charged with a bench warrant out of Rhode Island superior court.

Oct. 23

4:25 p.m. — William Forest, 45, of Middletown, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic simple assault/battery.

Oct. 24

2:40 p.m. — Ramondo Howard, 49, of Newport, was charged with disorderly conduct-fighting, and simple assault/battery.
