Easton's Beach Reopened to Swimming

The latest sample shows bacteria counts are within safe limits.

NEWPORT, RI—One day after being closed for swimming, Easton's Beach in Newport is back open.

The state Department of Health recommended the closure notice issued Wednesday be lifted on Thursday afternoon after the most recent water samples show bacteria levels have decreased.
