Felony Assault; Breaking And Entering; Drug Charges: Newport PD Log

NEWPORT, RI — The following people were arrested by Newport police between Nov. 5 and Nov 8.

Names of those arrested or the town they reside in were only omitted when not provided by police.

Nov. 5

1:20 a.m. — Trevor Cassese, 23, and Jael Evans, 24, both of Newport, were charged with simple assault or battery, breaking into a dwelling house without consent, and disorderly conduct.

1:25 a.m. — William Gaw, 24, of Newport, was charged with disorderly conduct.

6:40 a.m.— Aaron Lapointe, 40, of Providence, was charged with larceny under $1,500.

11:55 a.m. — Michele Cardinal, 45, of Newport, was charged with maintaining a common nuisance/controlled substances and possession of schedule I-V drugs (except marijuana)-less than 10 grams.

2:10 p.m. — Vangjel Hoda, 59, of Newport, was charged with littering, spilling loads.

Nov. 6

1:55 a.m. — Alex Remington, 25, of Providence, was charged with resisting legal or illegal arrest and obstructing an officer in the execution of duty.

6 p.m. — Shane Wyre, 34, of Newport, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic felony assault.

Nov. 7

4:44 p.m. — Edward Violette, 70, of Newport, was charged with vandalism/malicious injury to property.

Nov. 8

9:35 a.m. — Benjamin Clark, 18, of Kingston, was charged with misdemeanor shoplifting.

5:30 p.m. — Maria Ramos, 37, of Newport, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic simple assault/battery.
