UPDATE: 300+ of Newport Customers Still Without Power

Update 3:54 p.m. Feb.10 As of 3:42 p.m., National Grid is reporting that 320 Newport customers are without power.

Update 12:12 p.m. Feb. 10 National Grid has given a restoration estimate of 11:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, for Newport.

The outage map is currently reporting 2,152 customers still without power.
Original Report - At one point during the storm, almost all of Newport had lost power. Slowly over the course of Friday night, residents began seeing the lights turn back on.

At it's peak, more than 14,000 customers did not have power in Newport.
As of 11:55 p.m. on Saturday, National Grid reported that 7,807 customers still had no power. There is still no official estimated restoration time for Newport, whose condition is still being assessed. However, nearby towns like Jamestown and Portmouth have an estimated restoration time of 11:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11.
Our Facebook readers did a great job on Saturday night keeping each other updated on who had power and who did not. Some streets with power included Kay Street, Catherine Street, Carroll Avenue, Carey Street, Pond Avenue, Eastnor Road, Friendship Street, Dudley Avenue and Admiral Kalbfus.
