Scattered snow showers are possible through midday Monday.
Local meteorologist Jim Laurie said that the snow is thanks to a weak area of low pressure which formed over western New York Sunday afternoon.

“Any snow showers will begin around 10 p.m., and end by Monday afternoon around 3 p.m.,” Laurie predicted. “It will also become blustery by the afternoon, as a high pressure ridge tries to build in towards Connecticut. This will tighten the pressure gradient between the low’s center and the ridge, and therefore increasing winds. Skies will clear by Monday night, but low temperatures will fall into the middle teens.”
The National Weather Service indicated that a wind advisory may be needed on Tuesday with a chance of gusts up to 45 or even 50 mph.
